Cardiff Kook attacked again…by a shark!!

Publié le 28 juillet 2010 par Igor Goni

Cardiff Kook attacked!!!

Created by Hemet sculptor Matthew Antichevich under a $92,000 commission from the Cardiff Botanical Society, the sculpture was installed three years ago just outside the San Elijo State Beach campground. Critics immediately blasted it as effeminate, not enough like a surfer — more a ballet dancer than a macho rider of waves.

Residents and visitors are looking at it in a very humurous way and some even want to keep the shark right where it is

This is not the first time the « sculpture » has been attacked:

2 Turbines to be installed in the St-Lawrence River

2 Trek Turbines will be installed close to la Cite du Havre

Watch the reportage on Radio-Canada HERE!

Montreal is thirsty for renewable energy sources. With a city in plain expansion and receiving thousands of new immigrants every year, the energy demand increases and ways to keep up with this demand scarce. This is why Hydro Quebec in conjunction with Ottawa are investing 5.8 million dollars (on a 18 million dollars project) in 2 turbines type Trek which will be located close to « la Cité du Havre » and will be able to produce 250Kw of electricity. These turbines will be anchored to the bottom of the river and water will flow longitudinally throug them, so for those concern about this project modifying te water levels significantly enough to modify the wave at H67…well it ain’t happening. If everything goes well, the Canadian Government is planning on exporting energy si9nce, according to studies, the Canadian waterways have the potential of producing more than 200.000 MW

This project is expected to be finished before the end of 2010 and it is to remark that it is a pilot project
