Here’s Igor’s bio that you can also find on the « équipe » page:
Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela I started surfing at 16 through a friend (we were 3 closed friends always going together) and I have been surfing ever since. Surfing started as a mere sport but soon took me in and changed my life. Starting at such age we used to go with parents on Sundays as a social activity but soon, after getting the independence of the driver license (18 years old back home) and with the ability to go to the beach at will (sort of cause university came always first) it turned into a more organic experience. I remember while studying mechanical engineering in many opportunities we came across problems which solutions never came evidently. In such occasions I used to leave everything and drive 2 hours to the beach (in the car always my beach chair, a towel and a pair of shorts) just to go there and clear my head and 95% of the times the solution will come while seating in the line-up looking at the horizon. Avid surfer back home I surfed most of the beaches on the Venezuelan coast, once in Hossegor France, once Mundaka and twice La Zurriola both on the Basque part of Spain, usual suspect at Maine and addict to the the wave at H67 right here at my second home…Montreal Canada.
I’ve always been involved in sporting activities since I was a little kid: swimming, baseball, soccer, yoga, kung-fu, karate, ninjitsu but surf became my passion from the moment it started.
I think we human beings have a special connection with water, that’s why this impulsive need for it.
What’s surfing for me???? a deeper more intimate connection with nature. Put me in the water I’ll be happy:2ft, 3ft or 10ft as long as I have the right equipment I’ll be the happiest being on earth. In the water time stops there’s only the right here right now.
The day I leave you guys, please burn my sorry behind and spary my ashes in the ocean.
BIENVENIDO IGOR!
